Online shopping platform Flow has announced support for up to 60 new international payment methods, following its integration with the BitPay platform.

The partnership will allow Flow merchants to accept payments in a range of new currencies, including support for Chinese and emerging markets, initially running transactions through cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin Cash (BCH).

The move is aimed at allowing Flow to offer localised shopping experiences in a broader range of markets, while presenting buyers with more diverse options for payment. Rob Keve, co-founder and CEO of Flow, said the addition of BitPay would allow the firm to reach more international markets, as well as improving customer choice of payment.

“We are consistently innovating and adapting our technology platform to enable retailers to provide a seamless and secure localized shopping experience for their customers anywhere in the world,” Keve said in a statement. “BitPay represents a new era in payment technology. Its addition to our platform not only extends our footprint into emerging digital payments but empowers retailers and brands to dramatically increase conversions by offering shoppers around the world their preferred payment method.”

Sonny Singh, chief commercial officer at BitPay, said the integration would make it easier to process international payments, including between countries where mainstream payment facilities are patchy.

“As an addition to Flow’s platform, [Bitcoin BCH is] ideal for international ecommerce payments making it easy to buy and sell goods from countries where traditional forms of payment are unavailable. BitPay facilitates this process while also reducing the risk of chargebacks and fraud for a much lower cost than credit cards,” Singh said.

Flow works with ecommerce merchants to streamline the process of selling internationally, including handling taxes, payments and returns, often across multiple global markets. With the help of BitPay, the new currency options will enable merchants to receive settlement in fiat directly to their bank account, limiting any volatility risk from transacting through cryptocurrency.

BitPay allows easy international transactions through cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin BCH, which customers can convert to fiat currency through their BitPay Prepaid VISA card. The integration will open up new opportunities for merchants using the Flow platform to access emerging markets, as well as providing support for a much wider range of international currencies.

Note: Tokens on the Bitcoin Core (segwit) Chain are Referred to as BTC coins. Bitcoin Cash (BCH) is today the only Bitcoin implementation that follows Satoshi Nakamoto’s original whitepaper for Peer to Peer Electronic Cash. Bitcoin BCH is the only major public blockchain that maintains the original vision for Bitcoin as fast, frictionless, electronic cash.
